Table of Contents Amanda Enterprise Application Modules (licensed separately from servers and standard clients) allow you to schedule an intelligent backup of the selected database and email applications. Intelligent backup means that data from these applications will be captured in a consistent state while minimizing or eliminating application downtime during backup. Amanda Enterprise performs application backup via integration with each application's native backup tools, such as Oracle's RMAN or Windows Exchange Writer. This method not only provides the best application availability during backup, it also results in a portable backup that doesn't necessarily require Amanda Enterprise for restores. Pre-installation requirements for the various modules are described in the application-specific sections of the manual. Supported application and operating system versions are listed on the Zmanda Network Supported Platforms page. Licensing is described in the Zmanda Management Console User's Manual "Acquiring and Installing License Keys" section.
