Error: amandad: time 0.002: accept error: access as amandabackup not allowed from amanda@host: cannot open /var/lib/amanda/.amandahosts: Permission denied

Solution: The /tmp/amanda directory is owned by the wrong user! Make sure to chown -R amandabackup:disk /tmp/amanda

Solution: Make sure that /var/lib/amanda/.amandahosts is owned by amandabackup chown amandabackup:disk /var/lib/amanda/.amandahosts

Error: WARNING driver WARNING: got empty schedule from planner

Solution: Make sure the dumptype you are using in your disklist is defined in amanda.conf

Error: ERROR planner Request to client_host failed: timeout waiting for ACK

Solution: Make sure that xinetd is running on the client and that there is no errors in /etc/xinetd.d/amandaclient

Error: ERROR: NAK client_hostname: access as amandabackup not allowed from amandabackup@backup_server_hostname: /var/lib/amanda/.amandahosts

Solution: Edit the /var/lib/amanda/.amandahosts on the backup client and add a line backup_server_hostname amandabackup

Make sure to use FQDN in all .amandahosts files
