Amanda Enterprise Server Virtual Appliance is a 64bit Vmware Virtual Machine with Amanda Enterprise 3.0.2 images and additional patches. It includes both Amanda server and client packages. All Amanda pre-requisites to perform backups to disk are installed. This virtual machine uses CentOS 5 distribution.
VMware Images
There are two images available for download:
VMX format This image works on Vmware Workstation 5.x, VMware Workstation 6.x, VmWare Server 1.x, ESX Server 3.x and VmWare Player 1.x
OVF format This image works on Vmware ESX 4 and ESX 4i, Vmware Player 2.x and VmWare server 2.x
Please note 64bit Vmware product is required to run this appliance.
How to use these Images
Configuring the backup server
The hostname is zmanda-aee-3 and by default obtain an IP address using dhcp. There is a default backup set named "demo" that backs up /home to disk daily with retention policy of 7 days. Please read /etc/zmanda-readme.txt on the virtual machine for more information. The root password is zmanda.
