Amanda Enterprise patch 3.1.2.1 is a patch release that provides bug fixes for ZMC issues reported by Amanda Enterprise customers. The patch release contains fixes only to the Amanda server.
All customers are recommended to install this patch.
It is important to read Amanda 3.1.2 release notes and Amanda 3.1 documentation because this release is a patch to Amanda Enterprise 3.1.2.
Patch installation procedure
Note: Zmanda Management Console should not be in use during this process. Amanda backup or restoration should not be in progress.
- If ZRM is installed, Stop ZRM ZMC services
# /etc/init.d/zmc_zrm stop
- Install Amanda Enterprise 3.1.2 or upgrade to Amanda Enterprise 3.1.2.
- Install the patch
- Extract the perl script using gunzip command
# gunzip amanda-enterprise-3.1.2-1.pl.gz
- Run the perl script
# ./amanda-enterprise-3.1.2.1.pl
- Flush the browser cache.
- Login to ZMC as admin user to complete the installation/upgrade process.
- Carefully read any messages that is shown in Login or Admin BackupSets page.
- Restart ZRM ZMC services if it was stopped in step 1.
Changes in the patch
Visual
- Fixed annoying misalignment of messages in message box areas.
- Improved error and message reporting on several pages.
- Pagination and column sorting work for multiple tables on the Backup Media page.
- Parameters configured using checkboxes work correctly.
Backup
- More than 10 backup sets can be configured in ZMC.
- Better support for NDMP DLEs and changers.
- Microsoft Exchange DLEs will be configured correctly.
- Amazon S3 device configuration displays SSL option.
- Autolabelling for devices can be configured.
- Manual labelling interaction has significant improvements include Abort button.
- Backup Staging size can be set as percentage of total size.
Restore
- Restore of CIFS DLE to CIFS destination is now possible.
- Support for UTF-8 characters in browsing/exploring DLEs.
- Fixes to Clear and Edit button operation in Restore What page.
Admin
- Admin Backup sets counts the number of DLEs correctly.
- Admin Backup sets Duplicate button functionality is available.
- ZMC operator users can access Backup Staging page.
Known issues
- Backup Media page does not work for Single tape drives (no changers).
- Abort button for Select&Explore in Restore What page does not work.
