Amanda Enterprise patch 21653 is a mandatory patch for all Amanda 3.3.7 customers doing Windows backups. This patch must be installed on the Amanda Enterprise server.
Patch installation procedure
Note: Zmanda Management Console should not be in use during this process. Amanda backup or restoration should not be in progress.
- You should be running Amanda Enterprise 3.3.7 or later on the Amanda Server.
- Patch must be installed on the Amanda Enterprise server.
- If ZRM is installed, Stop ZRM ZMC services
# /etc/init.d/zmc_zrm stop
- Install the patch as super user on the Amanda server.
- Extract the patch using tar command
# tar xvzf amanda-enterprise-server-patch-21653.tar.gz
- Change the permission of the patch script
# chmod +x amanda_enterprise_3.3.7.21653.patch.sh
- Run the patch script
# ./amanda_enterprise_3.3.7.21653.patch.sh
- Restart ZRM ZMC services if it was stopped in step 1.
Changes in the patch
This patch removes support for Windows client parallel backups. After the application of the patch, only one backup will be performed on a Windows machine at a time. This patch is temporary until the issue that prevents parallel backups for Windows machine is resolved.
