Verifying Amanda Enterprise System and Environmental Requirements       

Almost all failed installations or problems with backups fall into two categories: 

The Amanda Enterprise server ( Backup Server and Zmanda Management Console ) or one of its clients does not meet the system requirements which include package dependencies. 

The Amanda Enterprise defaults do not match the local configuration, meaning one or both must be changed. 

To avoid these problems, read the Amanda Enterprise 4.1 system requirements. 

Installing the Correct Amanda Enterprise Components and Licenses       

If you intend to run the Amanda Enterprise backup server (referred to as the Amanda server) and Zmanda Management Console on the same machine as the file systems being backed up, this is simple: just choose the appropriate binary distribution from the Zmanda network downloads page, install 4.1 Backup Server and Zmanda Management Console using the respective Installers *run file, then download the license key from network zmanda and then upload it on License section under Setting on ZMC.

Amanda Enteprise 4.1 is a backup solution designed to help IT teams create flexible, yet scalable backup policies for their IT environments. It brings new enhancements to security, data deduplication, centralized multi-site cluster management,supports Azure, Vault AWS, containerization, file level recovery and AWS Glacier storage with archival rules. 

This document contains a high-level overview of Amanda Enteprise, its enhanced features, upgrades, new operating systems and it's background operations and processes.
