Migrating from Amanda Community Edition to Amanda Enterprise Edition

Recommended upgrade procedure is to upgrade an Amanda client from community edition to enterprise edition. Test the backup and recovery process. If the testing is successful, upgrade the remaining clients and the server.

Depending on how the installation was done originally, whether they were compiled from source or installed using RPMs, the existing installation has to be completely removed. There is not need to remove any of the backup configuration information. For rpms, you will have to do a rpm -e and erase them. For installations from source, all Amanda binaries has to be removed from the system.
